Tom Carello- Supervisor
It's Time to Take Some Responsibility with a Lifetime Leader
Tom Carello is a natural born leader. Tom has held management positions with Uniden America Corp as a VP, Davis Electronics, Lenbrook Industries, ADP and is currently retired from Kishmish, Inc. an IT company located in Syracuse where he held the position of Vice President of Business development for 14 years.
Tom Carello serves in the Civil Air Patrol as the Northeast Regional Vice Commander for five States including Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. He holds awards in the senior program in all five levels. In Command he has held positions as a Squadron Commander, Group Commander, Wing Chief of staff, Wing Vice Commander, Wing Commander as well as various squadron and Group staff positions. Tom knows what it takes to lead, inspire, and manage the Town of Dewitt.
The One-party System Running DeWitt Doesn't Work!
For many years now, the Town of DeWitt has only had one single voice. The Town Board is made up entirely of a single party, and the current Supervisor has been in office for 16 years! This one-sided system does not work because there is a lack of checks and balances as well as accountability. Additionally, only one-sided ideas are brought to the table and resident with differing opinions or ideas are not heard from OR spoken for. It is time to change that with a leader that knows accountability. Tom Carello will lead the Town of DeWitt welcoming ideas and opinions of all residents and Board Members (not just the ones that agree with him) while holding our Board, and most importantly himself accountable for the decisions made on behalf of our residents.
A Supervisor that is AVAILABLE!
Bringing his service mindset with him, Tom recognizes the first step in accountability comes from availability. Tom intends to be consistently present in the office and accessible to town employees ensuring that the employees managing the day to day operations of our town are cared for and heard. Being accessible and available will result in an immediate change for the better as our current Supervisor is known to only be present in the office ONE day each week. Tom Carello wants his own "boots on the ground" to be able to make a positive impact to the Town.
NO Automatic Assessment Hike Every Year
Tom Carello's first order of business for Town of DeWitt residents is to analyze the budget and property assessments and only raise assessments if absolutely necessary. The automatic increase is assessments is a drain on the residents of DeWitt and may not always be necessary. Tom doesn't believe in increasing the tax burden on residents just because he can his plan to have fiscal control to benefit both the Town AND it's residents is transparency.
1. To review and make sense of our budget so we know what we are spending money on;
2. To know the balance of the Reserve Fund and make the information available to residents;
3. Determine if increase in assessments is necessary; and
4. To be business friendly. Increasing business development will not only clean up empty, eye sore buildings and replace them with thriving open and cared for businesses, but will also serve to increase tax revenue without hurting residents.
A Message From Tom
It's TIME FOR A CHANGE. In the last 16 years, the residents of DeWitt have seen their assesments increase, and businesses along Erie Boulevard shuttered. Do we even mention Shoppingtown? The current regime isnt getting it done. I have the management, fiscal resonsibility, and the accountability to do the job that DeWitt needs. Thank you for your vote.
